Project Details
Challenge ATOM First-Gate Passed Project
After passing the first gate of the Challenge ATOM (https://www.c-atom.tech/) contest, this team develops "PatchAssist," a Physical AI robot for patch placement, with 1,000,000 JPY development support and an OpenARM2.0 loan.
Objective
Build a practical assistance system by combining VLA-based data collection and fine-tuning with a custom end-effector designed for handling and placing patches.
- ※Challenge ATOM is a contest supported by the Longevity Science Promotion Foundation and Google.org to create Physical AI solutions for challenges in aging societies.
- ※OpenARM2.0 is loaned by Enactic, Inc.
Implementation
To realize reliable patch placement on Open Arm, development proceeds on both model training and hardware design.
Key Initiatives
- -Independent data collection and fine-tuning using VLA models
- -Design and fabrication of a custom end-effector for patch handling (with 3D printing)
- -Quantization and optimization for deployment on edge devices such as Jetson
Publication Policy
Deliverables will be published under Apache License 2.0 or CC BY 4.0 with contributor credits. Intellectual property rights remain with participants.
