🎯Overview

We are pleased to announce the KUPAC 11th Physical AI Study Group. This session features two talks: "C++-Based, Beginner-Friendly Accelerator Circuit Design" by Yoshio Seirin and "Robot Control from an Embedded Systems Perspective" by Taro Tamitsu. We will share practical insights that connect software, hardware, and real robot implementation, and foster active discussion among participants.

👨‍🏫Talk Information

Yoshio Seirin

Master's Program, Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University

🎤Talk Title

C++-Based, Beginner-Friendly Accelerator Circuit Design

📄Abstract

Many software developers feel that designing hardware accelerators has a high barrier to entry. However, circuit design can actually be done in familiar high-level languages such as C++, without writing low-level RTL directly. This talk outlines a practical end-to-end flow for designing accelerators in C++, with concrete examples. The goal is to lower the barrier for software-layer researchers and developers so they can step into the world of hardware accelerator design more comfortably.

Taro Tamitsu

🎤Talk Title

Robot Control from an Embedded Systems Perspective

📄Abstract

In recent robot research, attention often focuses on high-profile technologies such as reinforcement learning and VLA. Meanwhile, embedded topics inside robots, such as communication methods used to drive motors and read sensor data, are often left outside the main discussion. In this talk, we focus on humanoid robots, introduce their current system architecture, and summarize key challenges in the current state of the field.
