What is a Community Project?
"Community Project" is a mechanism where KUPAC officially supports activities led by members.
We aim to accelerate innovation in the Physical AI field by shaping your spontaneous ideas and challenges and utilizing the resources of the entire community.

Kyoto University Mechanical Society
The only robot circle at Kyoto University
Activities include robot creation, electronics, and programming. Currently mainly working towards participating in NHK Student Robocon 2026.
KVT Project
KVT is an open core project aiming for social implementation of Physical AI technology.
KVT is promoting R&D for the practical application of Physical AI by combining cutting-edge VLA (Vision-Language-Action) technology with proprietary dual-arm robots.

You can discuss with members with diverse expertise and develop the project from multiple perspectives. Member recruitment and knowledge sharing can also be done efficiently through the community network.
Official PR support
Disseminate activities through KUPAC's official website, SNS, and events. Cognitive recognition increases, making it easier to receive support from external individuals and companies (funds, equipment, technical cooperation, etc.).
Support for obtaining assistance
KUPAC connects supporters and project teams to realize flexible and rapid support. We also provide support in terms of contracts and operations as needed.

Flow until Project Start
Application is not an "Examination"
The purpose of the project application is not evaluation or screening. The main purposes are confirmation of supportable resources and confirmation that the activity is in line with the purpose of the community. We fully support your challenge!
Team Formation & Planning
Members who want to launch a project form a team and create a plan summarizing the purpose and activity plan.
Application to Management
Submit the created project plan to KUPAC management. The application is for checking the support system, not for evaluation/screening.
Confirmation & Adjustment
The management team confirms the plan and exchanges opinions on the desired support. Consultation for better activities is also welcome.
Registration & Start
Once confirmation is complete, it will be officially registered as a "KUPAC Community Project" and official activities can begin.

Specific details of support and contracts are basically discussed directly between the supporter and the project team. KUPAC support is also provided as needed.

Q. What kind of projects are eligible?
A. As long as it is related to Physical AI, the theme or format does not matter, such as research, development, or learning. We welcome the free ideas of members.
Q. How can I join a project?
A. First, please become a KUPAC member. Currently active projects will be introduced on the website etc., so please contact the representative of the project you are interested in directly.
Q. What is required for application?
A. A "Project Plan" describing the project overview, purpose, activity plan, member list, necessary resources, etc. is required. The format will be guided separately.
