KUPAC is an open community focused on Physical AI, where robotics and AI meet in real-world systems. With official support from Kyoto University's growth strategy office, we run collaborative learning, research, and development activities.

What is Physical AI?

Physical AI is the field of embedding intelligence into robots and physical systems so they can perceive, decide, and act in the real world. At KUPAC, we connect theory with hands-on validation to create technology that can address social challenges.

What We Do

  • Study groups and hands-on sessions on Physical AI
  • Building and testing on real robot platforms
  • Developing models such as VLA and imitation learning
  • Joint proof-of-concept and development with external partners

  • Step-by-step learning from programming basics to AI fundamentals
  • Structured education program up to Physical AI practice
  • Known parts can be skipped and pacing is personalized
  • Typical period is May-August, then project participation

For Experienced Applicants

  • Quick interview for those who want early project assignment
  • Project matching based on your skills and interests
  • Technical onboarding support when needed
